News and Announcements What's news on Wolfing? 13 July 2016 12:31 PM Posted by: WolfKodi Introducing the Beta Rank and Wolfing's First BetasViews: 1757 Howl-lo, wolfies! I hope things have been great going.
Wolfing has been running for more than two years. During this period, many have wondered what the Beta rank on Wolfing is for and when will it ever be used. The team of moderators for Wolfing, also know as the Wolfing Leaders, began with only 4 Gammas and has grown to a recent peak of 17 Gammas. In order for our team to be better organised and to have better allocation of duties, I have decided that it is time for me to appoint several Betas out of our existing Gamma team. After collecting opinions separately from each team member over the past week, I'm going to announce and welcome three new Betas of Wolfing in this article. It wasn't entirely an easy choice to make, but I'm positive and confident about my choices. What are Betas? Betas are leaders of Gammas. They will help keep the team's discussions and decisions fair and organised. They are responsible for regulating moderation consistency across the team in order to reduce differences in action choices among moderators. They may table a particular case for discussion, and gather opinions before finally making a decision on a case. Betas also oversee effective communication and the fair delegation of responsibilities among the Gammas. As a user of Wolfing, if you have an issue with how a Gamma handled a situation you can forward it to a Beta now. The new Betas Please welcome MinniHowl, Kat and Crashwolf as our newly elected Betas. For those who did not make it, don't feel disheartened as you're still apart of the team. Every person is able to play an important role on Wolfing and you do not need to be a Gamma or a Beta to do so. What's next? Having Betas would allow me to better focus on the development aspect of the site, to bring in more features and tools for the moderators and users of Wolfing. My next and immediate focus will be an effective reporting system to facilitate better case handling. I've got some core code overhaul of existing systems to upgrade right after that. The introduction of Betas does not mean that I wouldn't be in touch with the team. I would still be seeing though matters and decisions among the team. Additional Updates We've had several Gammas who had to leave our team for various reasons and we wish them the best in their future. It's possible that more will retire or take a break but that's natural. This means that we may have more room for new Gammas as well as having some of our former Wolfing Leaders rejoining the team. Levi recently rejoined us. You can find more updates about Wolfing Leaders on its respective page. A link to that page has also been placed at the bottom of the site. A link to the news page has been added to the top bar of the site. We hope that would allow users to follow our news updates more conveniently and closely.
