News and Announcements What's news on Wolfing? 2 July 2015 05:10 PM Posted by: Kat Registrations are open! [restricted]Views: 1528 Hello again, Wolfing! Time for some more update news
As per tradition, make sure you've caught up with the changelog if you're interested in details and changes made on Wolfing. There won't be a list this time, because we'll focus on telling you about our brand new registration system! Trust me, it's as exciting as it sounds. You can visit the registration page to see the changes for yourself. (You may have to log out or use another browser/anonymous tab) What has changed? The registration is RESTRICTED which means our registration system now works via approval/denial. A user may fill out the registration form but they will not be immediately registered. Their request will be forwarded to the Wolfing Leaders and we will decide whether we will approve or deny their request. This is the image that you will see on the registration page. It's already explained as it can be. Additional information for registering is optional, but we would kindly appreciate if that form is filled out. With all that said, spread the word to any friends you may have that want to register, and see you in the next News! Leaders Howls (10) Sophia 9 years, 2 months ago No offense, but I don't see the point of this. If someone has an inappropriate username, won't Kodi or another admin see it and be able to delete the account? Furrest 9 years, 3 months ago I really like this change. I'm glad that you guys took the time to put a restricted registration. I think it's way safer to do this anyway just incase an inappropriate username pops up. Also it's easier to manage accounts registered I assume. Again thank you so much! ( sorry I replied late ) Spotty178 9 years, 4 months ago This sounds great I seen a lot of accounts that you guys jumped on cause of inappropriate names and such then they go ahead make another and cause trouble. People should understand that it takes time and this feature should help out in long run :) Vogul 9 years, 4 months ago Why was a person who picked an already existing nickname and put an x at the end allowed? Kat 9 years, 4 months ago Because the username is a name. Just because of that fact we shouldn't jump to conclusion they are impersonating anyone. That would be silly. (also the fact that it's a name from a popular tv series even doubles this statement) Vogul 9 years, 4 months ago Huh, what My issue is with a name being an exact copy of a regular's with a really small difference. I didn't even remotely say anything about impersonation. You don't have to even try to do that to get confused with the original person. That's my issue. Especially considering registration has been set to restricted and needs approval. It's bound to cause confusion so at least one would think that person would have been told to choose a slightly more unique name. Spin 9 years, 4 months ago Oh please, you guys assume any account with "swan" in the name is impersonation. Actually, in Aqua's case, it didn't even need to have "swan" in the name. You guys have full control over usernames now, you could easily make the chat somewhat less confusing by rejecting names that are intended to be the same as current users or staff. |
